Notice to Players
81st WPGA Four-Ball Championship

Monday, August 15th, 2022 at Williams Golf & Country Club, Weirton, WV

This notice serves as confirmation for the 81st WPGA Four-Ball Championship on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Williams Golf & Country Club. The competition is 36 holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. The ball scored must be individually identifiable by the player who scored his ball for each hole when signing and returning your scorecard. The field consists of 40 teams. All teams will play from the Blue WPGA Tee Markers.

 

Format: 36-holes of Four-Ball stroke play. Play is governed by The Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

 

Practice: Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 304-748-2340. Tee Times are available at the discretion of the pro shop. The PGA Professional is Brian Grogan. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice rounds will be $80.

 

Tee Markers: Play will be from the BLUE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,630 Yards). Play will begin on Hole #1 and Hole #10. Yardages will be contingent on course conditions.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the competition and included in the entry fee. Caddies are permitted for the Championship. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties.

 

Food: The WPGA provides water on course, coffee & juices prior to the competition and lunch will be provided between rounds. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Footwear: Metal cleats are prohibited . The penalty is disqualification.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Weirton, WV area.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return immediately to the clubhouse.

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place for the Championship. The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

 

 

Spectator Info: Directions to the club can be found on the Williams Golf & Country Club website. No spectator carts will be permitted for the Championship without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office with any questions.
